Mature but still productive: Will you hire me?

No.
I will prefer to hire foreigners.
They are cheaper , younger and replaceable when their contract ends.
No need to pay salary increment as long as they are replaced on yearly basis.
The salary cost is always about the same.
Unless the govt can subsidise Singaporeans, if not, they are older and very expensive.

Mr Teo Swee Meng, 53, was one of those who found it difficult to get rehired after leaving his job of 24 years as a creative designer at SPH Media. He said he had sent out many job applications.
“I did not hear from any of them,” he said. “Many of my peers have to rely on gig jobs or retire early as they simply cannot find another job after leaving their former role.”
Unable to find another suitable corporate job, the former national taekwondo athlete joined Zen Academy, his friend’s martial arts and fitness club in Sims Drive, as a taekwondo and muay thai coach a few months ago.
“At least I can fall back on my old skills,” he said. “How do I compete with younger and cheaper designers? Having more experience does not really matter – this can be accumulated over time.”

PAP style is only want FTs all along
You can only take the Bottom 20 Professions that FTs do not want.
You voted such job discrimination.

Why do we need 5 Mayors and 80 PAP Ministers?

Emerging sectors from automation take away more jobs that they create. Most of these new positions require grads with different skills from their older counterparts. As a result, many retrenched employees end up in lower-level jobs that pay far less. With a mortgage to service and a family to support, few displaced individuals will wait patiently for another job which commensurate with their qualifications and experience. Most out of work seniors end up underemployed as taxi or PHV drivers, security guards, insurance or property agents, MLM sales representatives, private tutors etc. Underemployment is considered such a major issue these days because older PMEs are bearing the brunt of downsizing.

so why workplace can be like that?
isn’t workplaces more crucial as it concerns about our livelihoods?
so why this place so special ?
Worst was all these people come from the same country.
it is of little wonder that many locals are unemployed or underemployed.
