It true as seem like not clear guideline for treatment,, I use to long smaller shop as they provide best treatment and cost too.

If you think logically , when you bite or chew on tough meat/food you will exert pressure on your teeth. Without support from adjacent teeth if there is a gap the adjacent teeth will slowly shift towards the empty space. Over time the teeth will probably dislodge or need extraction too. My opinion.

The way you said seems like this dentist is not a good professional. Can you replace it with crown? Extract total no u turn becomes Bogay liao

It depends how bad the tooth break into 2.

Decaying tooth can still save if the decay is not very serious, how come broken tooth cannot save?

Can do root canal, filling and crowning to save the tooth.

If you feel your tooth is having sharp pain or having pus in the gum, don’t wait already. This is a warning signal your tooth is decaying. You still can save the tooth. If you still don’t bother it, eventually you will need to go for tooth extraction.

Nope, because there will always be still 2 moving pieces.  Will not be stable and doc said you are wasting your money.

Extract already means cannot save already.
Dental implant is not cheap.

Lucky the dentist was honest.  He said I will be wasting my money.

The second dentist (female) said besides the expensive costs, there is also the pain to consider too.

Since  I worked at fast food restaurant more many yrs ago whenever I needed dental treatment, I would travel to JB to get it done. Because my pay was low and I tried to save money here and there..it was  my fellow fast food restaurant colleagues who shared with me that was a way to save money. Since then I have been traveling to JB for dental treatment.

Last week one of my filling  broke. It was done by my Malaysian dentist she charged me RM$120 for the filling of my molar ... I am not sure but I recall she also took an x ray before she did the filling. It lasted very long but now has to be re-done.

Unfortunately,  I applied for my passport 5 weeks ago but until today it is under processing by ICA. 

Not knowing how long it will take to get the new passport. I went to nearby dentist and took $100 with me. 

The dentist ordered any xray then proceed to do the filling....same filling I had done in Malaysia for RM$120.

After the treatment I waited for the dental clinic nurse to prepare the bill. When she called my name I gave her the $100 I brought along with me. 

She looked at me...and waited. I also waited for my change.



There was no change. The total for the filling x ray and consultation was $240....took 30mins in total for the session

I am.not here to complain...but I just want to ask if these charges look okay.

Yes I understand it is expensive to get treatment in Singapore that is why I went to Malaysia to seek treatment when I was earning a low income working at fast food restaurant. But it really looks a bit on the high side.

I am not naming the dentist as quite a few here said charges look okay and normal for private dentist in Singapore.

Polyclinics appt minmum5-6 months wait. Your tooth problem can tahan that long?

This kind is normally for cleaning and polishing only, not for urgent cases. If got urgent case you can tell them and you may get the booking within a month.
