Too massive for its wall. The background image shows the distribution of dark matter (green and blue) and galaxies (here seen as tiny yellow dots) in a thin slice of the cubic volume in which we expect to find one of such rare massive galaxies.

Presidential elections in Ukraine are scheduled almost at the same time as in Russia, also in spring 2024.

Only the 8th Ukrainian president will be able to save his country from disaster,” Baba Vanga, who died 25 years ago, reportedly said. Volodimir Zelenski is Ukraine’s 7th president since leaving the USSR

Question is who will be the 8th President of Ukraine, do we have a name.....................? Thinking

USA, China, Russia, UN and even Euro need to help it others in deep space and beyond, the like of going to Mar, Venus, Moon, our Sun and beyond. Humans help meet each other and not to go war on each other.

Outside our solar system has been largely a mystery, principally because the Sun, and all eight planets on our Solar System is a very distant mystery... Crying Why go war on Mar...be USA, China and Russia.

Baba Vanga, who died 25 years ago, reportedly said...Aliens Will Attack Earth.

During the alien invasion, electricity will not be used for three days and three nights, it will be total darkness; the Moon nor the stars will be visible, and following these events, out of all the people on Earth, only ten thousand will be saved... Tongue

Is it possible?

Fortunately, it is difficult to say with certainty whether or not aliens will attack Earth, as there is no concrete evidence that aliens exist or that they have the ability or desire to attack our planet. The possibility of alien life living elsewhere in the universe is a topic of much debate and speculation among scientists and the general public. Still, there is no definitive proof of its existence at this time. Until such evidence is found, it is impossible to know for sure whether or not aliens may pose a threat to Earth.

NASA Validates Revolutionary Propulsion Design for Deep Space Missions

As NASA takes its first steps toward establishing a long-term presence on the Moon’s surface, a team of propulsion development engineers at NASA have developed and tested NASA’s first full-scale rotating detonation rocket engine, or RDRE, an advanced rocket engine design that could significantly change how future propulsion systems are built.

An Rotating detonation rocket engine, or RDRE hot fire test at Marshall Space Flight Center. The RDRE differs from a traditional rocket engine by generating thrust using a supersonic combustion phenomenon known as a detonation. This design produces more power while using less fuel than today’s propulsion systems and has the potential to power both human landers and interplanetary vehicles to deep space destinations, such as the Moon and Mars.

Engineers at NASA’s Marshall Space Flight Center in Huntsville, Alabama, and primary collaborator IN Space LLC, located in West Lafayette, Indiana, are confirming data from RDRE hot fire tests conducted in 2022 at Marshall’s East Test Area. The engine was fired over a dozen times. Additional milestones achieved during the test include the successful performance of both deep throttling and internal ignition.

This successful demonstration brings the technology closer to being used with future flight vehicles, enabling NASA and commercial space to move more payload and mass to deep space destinations, an essential component to making space exploration more sustainable. Because of NASA’s recent success with the RDRE, follow-on work is being conducted by NASA engineers to develop a fully reusable 10,000-pound class RDRE to identify performance benefits over traditional liquid rocket engines.

Some would have been aware of an incident at the nearby Vladimir Ilyich Lenin Nuclear Power Plant, around which the town had sprouted up in the decade prior, but, in the words of one off-duty engineer: Chernobyl plant is still in the process of being decommissioned decades after the disaster.

But the warning signs were there... crying

Soviet Union and UN officials were driving the streets, hiding their monitors as they gauged the levels of radiation. As washing over the pedestrians they passed. Traders had been warned not to sell fresh greens and cabbages at the local market, and street sweepers were washing the streets with foam.

But this had happened  A gas mask hangs in a building inside the Chernobyl Exclusion Zone. Chernobyl. The shell of a television stands inside a building in the Chernobyl exclusion zone. 30 years later, it was only as he strolled to the far edge, a decision he said he would forever regret — and spotted Chernobyl’s fourth reactor “laying in ruins”, that he would realise something was seriously wrong.

Decades after the world’s worst nuclear accident. The likely death toll from the catastrophe is continually being revised to this day, the impacts of the fallout upon populations caught up in the nuclear slipstream — from Andreyev and his family to those living hundreds of miles away — still an active area of academic research.

Furthermore, the profound extent to which the accident, and the Soviet Union’s infamous handling of it, impacted the course of global history will never truly be known.

For the leader of the USSR at the time, Mikhail Gorbachev, the disaster wrought history anew. Rather than the collapse of the Berlin Wall, Chernobyl was “perhaps the real cause of the collapse of the Soviet Union”, he would later lament.

But, as with the disaster itself, the true starting point of such catastrophe is hard to pinpoint.

In the simplest sense, it began with a disastrous experiment during routine tests of reactor four. Technicians wished to see whether an emergency water-cooling system would work during a power outage and, shutting down the reactor’s emergency safety system, withdrew most of the control rods from its core while keeping the reactor running.

HELSINKI — ESA’s director general says  the agency does not have the budgetary capacity nor the political intention to send its astronauts to China’s space station.

https://spacenews.com/esa-is-no-longer-p...e-station/

Suspect this decision was much more political than financial. But it makes a nice public line to keep the lines open to Beijing.

Not surprised that the US would be against it,it fits with their attempts to "decouple" from China. Anything more likely to align Europe firmly with the U.S. in bringing down the Wrath of God on the PRC, both militarily and in terms of sanctions.

China offering a good game of geopolitics.
Up even a free ride to an astronaut from a country trying to gain favor with. South Africa, Brazil or maybe even Mexico or Canada. Canadians would never go for it - they're part of the ESA.

Mexicans know better too in the first place.
Brazil, think, would be more receptive, but to a PRC overture to launch rockets. Expect the PRC to start launching?. Suspect the ESA is monitoring behavior by the PRC in the Straits of Taiwan too.
