Mexico will not want to lose the free trade agreement with the US. They know what to do. They make sure goods for North America will not hv Chinese parts and components.

You think Trump only targets Chinese goods? He wants all countries to pay penalties for exporting goods to the U.S., his intention is to bring back manufacturing jobs to the U.S. , many anti-China Sgtalkers thought Trump is anti-China, that is incorrect lah. Trump wants to make the U.S. great again, all other countries need to scarify to pay tariffs and protection fees to the U.S. , as simple as that.

Trump ignored NAFTA during his first term and wanted to come up with his own treaties, he will definitely do it again. The immigration problem in Mexico is hard to fix and drug problem is hard to eliminate, therefore he will make Mexico pay a high price.

Making sure no Chinese parts are involved is literally impossible as most of the countries (India, Vietnam, Mexico, Indonesia, the U.S. and so on) are unable to produce such parts that China produces as they dunt have such high skilled workers. 90% of bolts and nuts around the world are made in China.
