The magnitude of the universe is mind boggling and incomprehensible.
50,000 light years means traveling at the speed of light for 50,000 years just to reach one part of the Galaxy from another part nearby.
But there are trillions and trillions of galaxies in the universe. And there are billions of stars in each Galaxy. Forget about planets for the time being. There is no way to count the number of galaxies because the universe is expanding at twice the speed of light. The light from distance Galaxies will never reach our telescopes.
The trillions and trillions of galaxies that we can see could be only a small tiny portion of the universe.
