Minister for Manpower Tan See Leng’s Cantonese remark in Parliament, directed at PSP NCMP Leong Mun Wai, has sparked debate. Trying to evade giving a clear answer from all angles means his data cannot be trusted and as a Minister of Manpower, the more he is seen as Unreliable. As thought, it took them so many years to finally give us this answer looks awfully suspicious.

The public is laughing at those pappies who don't even know how to anwser a simple question. Becos they cannot find a reasonable or honest answer. So, they wil find all ways to confuse the questioner.

This was passing around but his quip is more suitable for SM Lee regarding the Open Floodgates, GST and unresolved issue which is perfect. He listen, he knows, he admits but he refuse to undress the topic. He should send it to his own boss.

I also want to know the answer from TSL on the split between citizens and PR for employment data.

Why doesn't he provide a clear answer unless it is in fact bad?

At year’s 2025 Committee of Supply Debate, the Ministry of Manpower (MOM) outlined key measures to support business transformation and empower workers to build their career health, while fostering fair, inclusive, and safe workplaces. MOM will continue to work closely with our tripartite partners - the National Trades Union Congress (NTUC) and the Singapore National Employers Federation (SNEF) - to develop pro-worker and pro-business initiatives that help individuals and businesses seize opportunities for the future. For example, a
six months as participants undertake active job search with support from WSG and NTUC’s Employment and Employability Institute (e2i).
