More foreign healthcare workers are quitting amid rising rates
#1

Resignation rates among healthcare workers are going up, said Senior Minister of State for Health Janil Puthucheary yesterday.

Around 1,500 healthcare workers resigned in the first half of this year, compared with 2,000 a year pre-pandemic, he said.

"Foreign healthcare workers have also resigned in bigger numbers, especially when they are unable to travel to see their families back home," Dr Janil added.

Close to 500 foreign doctors and nurses resigned in the first half of this year, compared with around 500 last year and about 600 in 2019.

"These resignations were mostly tendered for personal reasons, for migration, or personal reasons, or moving back to their home countries," he said in a minitrial statement in Parliament.

Dr Jamil noted that for healthcare workers, it has been over 20 months of continuous daily battles against the pandemic, with a large proportion of them unable to take leave since last year.  Over 90 per cent of them will not be able to clear their accumulated leave for this year, he noted.

Maybe after getting the resume of working in the medical field in a world renowned Sg hospital, they can easily get European work permit and PR status as a medical worker, and for their family too, you know the village clan maybe?

PAP really LJ fcking moron.

Pinoys make good nurses and some of the good performers are what we need. Are they eligible to get PRs?

And stop issuing PRs to CECA for the jobs we do not need ie HR, Office Admin . . .

Why do we need 5 Mayors and 80 PAP Ministers?

Shameless pinky beggar nurses DO NOT make a good nurse in SG environment because they can only speak ONE language. If they meet our elderly where they cannot converse in English, they are in trouble. My friend is a doctor in TTSH, he said they are getting more East Malaysian as nurses because they can speak English and Malay or Chinese. These skills very important for our elderly patients

A little bird told me that ah On was very arrogant and snobbish when he talked to the healthcare staff. Like master to slave talk and tone. That can be very bad especially when the current situation is not just dependent on the pay you give to them but their trust and belief of cause to work for...

Sad that we have in leadership position of the likes of ong, ccs, jos etc... (Edited cos they don't fit the definition of leaders, just merely occupying the position).

PAP made SG half populated with foreigners. Even with best and most expensive military equipments, also useless.

So what Jac Lau always say he is a Singaporean. Anything happens, of course he runs back to Malaysia.

These foreigners will NEVER defend Singapore. They are TRAITORS.

Why do we need 5 Mayors and 80 PAP Ministers?

Very difficult to find cheap and good sinkees to become healthcare staff.

Because they dont want to pay the reasonable wage, they go and find cheap and not so good foreign healthcare staff, to keep the wages low.

Only the ministars can be paid very high as the jobs are researved for sinkees only.

In such time ya Singapore plays game but  going home might be worse
Here u make money.
The danger is u  don't  have knowlege
and do not know how to deal with it.
It might just be stress until u collapse.
For ex. u wear ur mask too tightly until no oxygen
U got to rear some goldfish to learn.
They mostly die of poison.
And the dead goldfish smell bad
and more will die.
wat happen?

They got their big bonus already this year thus can resign and return home first enjoy. Since they got experience working as nurse here mext time when covid ease they can still come back singapore and be a nurse..earn money again..no problem for them. Unlike local. You quit means, when interview you have to give a good answer...else you will be deem unloyal...quitter...irresponsible...no integrity etc..

This pandemic woke up the foreign nurses. They know their value and worth. I think other countries like Middle East and Europe have increased the demand for nurses with much better incentives....... Rolleyes
