I put a little salt and white vinegar to soak them, after that can see soil and other impurities come out...

I know and very sure veg absorbs because when I soaked almost dry veg into water for a while, the veg wakes up and became fatter and fresher looking after absorbing water. So, only eat confirmed certified organic or dun eat.

Both the pesticides and ferterlizers are already ingrained into the flesh, washing and rinsing do not help much.
Best is to avoid, reduce or choose the healthier ones.

Papaya quite easy to deal with. Apply a ring of sticky grease around the trunk, that would prevent ants from bringing mealy bugs up the trees, and pluck the fruits when they just turn yellow, that would prevent fruit flies and birds from attacking them
