I thought Leong asked a simple question, "what % of new citizens do not serve NS?"

It is a simple question.  I read the entire article with many accusations against Leong for misleading statements ( that were never stated)...but the question he asked was never answered.

Singaporeans are require to serve our reservists until 40yo so on what basis new citizens below 40 are exempted.from NS?

Also minister said foreigners don't have to serve as they did not receive benefits....NS is not an economic transaction. If a Singaporean stayed  overseas from young and did not get any benefit ...he still need to come back to serve.

I disagree with what minister said.....his reply was unsatisfactory. He was more focussed on attacking leong for posing a question

If have strawberry dept to serve , we can have 30 years above for new citizens to serve . Whether they want to work hard to ensure these FT contribute to the security of the country since they have benefits from the country's providing livelihoods for their current and future needs. After 30 years old, local dun need reservist meh?

this is why a " loophole " perhaps, PR/Foreigners as i have mention if mid 30 come apply for citizenship , so need to serve NS?
Obviously can't be already in 30++ going 40 for some

as for reservists for us locals we have to serve once 18 min defer from study max 21, 22 around there than years of reservists
, ippt test, Fail got RT , till 40 at least than finally ROD.

from 1 to 20
to 1 to 5
Now i understand why when i collect passport my no. starts with an F
even when flashed they need to call your name and u r under missing Q.
All counters different Alphabets. we got only a single counter
