She trusted the Assmericans ability to help her to jail General Min Aung Hlaing.
General Min Aung Hlaing was supposed to retire at mandatory retirement age of 65. He wanted Aung San Suu Kyi's assurance not to arrest and put him behind bar. Aung San Suu Kyi refused.
General Min Aung Hlaing too action and scrapped the retirement age of 65 for its leaders: commander-in-chief and his deputy.

Aung San Suu kyi wanted to carry out orders from her Assmerican masters to get rid of the military leaders and put them behind bar.
What would you do if you are the military leaders?

And that is why all of them are dispersed before they become too powerful. To keep them happy, they then go on to jobs like NOL and SPH
