Why do you think every HDB dweller wishes to join the upgraders before them to escape from the heartlands? These public housing estates are the ghettos of SG with unsavoury characters aplenty.

My colleague said that his family kept losing their footwear from their shoe cabinet, so they only kept slippers and old shoes there. Over time, even some of these items also went missing. He wishes to upgrade out of his HDB home, but realistically cannot based on today's condo prices.

It would be more beneficial to learn from the High SES on how to reach their level instead of envying or hating them.
