Koh Poh Koon contradicts Amy Khor about hawker stall rentals
#1

SM of State for Sustainability and the Environment, Koh Poh Koon said information provided to tenderers will help them make more accurate cost calculations. Speaking at the Singapore Hawkers’ Seminar and Awards 2024, he said: “Rental may form about 10% or less of their costs. The kind of dishes they offer will have impact on the kind of material costs they have to (factor) in as well.” In 2018, Dr Amy Khor, then SM of State for the Environment and Water Resources, said in Parliament that the rental price of hawker stalls doesn't directly affect food prices.

That woman from bolehland only knows nuts. Wasting taxpayers money. Thought so easy that hawkers earned big money with bidding of ridiculous cap benchmark. She shd be a hawker to try and taste it how tough life it is, instead of getting huge minister pay. High rentals is the root cause of food prices increase.

There is no contradiction. Both are correct and said the right thing for whom they represent - One speaks for landlord and the other speaks about hawker. None of the two is refering to the people who pay for the rising food prices.

So 5 million customers can vote the Foreigner OUT.

And the 3000 Hawkers can vote for KPK?

PAP still lose more votes than win votes.

.

Why do we need 5 Mayors and 80 PAP Ministers?

all cost factors affect prices of the final product.

in taiwan they put a cap on cook food prices. wonder how they do it.
singapore should do a study and learn from them.

for the retired this is necessary. too few people to cook. most will turn to eating out. hawker center will be useful for many.

letting chain store owner involve in hawker center is not a good decision.

that will only drive up price for nothing just for the margin of the chain store final owner.
