To be fair our red dot have been speculated to take over Hong Kong and Shanghai as the regional financial hub in coming decade after CCP self-pwn, so definitely need more talents in this area.
At least they ish looking into developing sinkie workforce to try fill up this demand instead of just import from CECA land or AT land.

It is not easy to employ citizens into the IT departments of the financial companies because at l;east 70% of the staff are CECA or from India.
The CECA managers will prefer to recruit cheap talents from India.
My friend worked in a local bank as a contract IT staff for a CECA manager.
In his group, 20% are Singaporean and 80% are CECA.
When his contract ended, his CECA manager recruited a permanent CECA talent to replace him.
