Man tries to gouge Taiwan shopkeeper's eyes after reminder to wear mask

This happened last week. The man has been detained and he has mental issues. He once hurt an old lady (72 yo) who is his neighbour.
The man’s family cannot managed him and he has been in and out of the mental hospital for sometimes. And the whole village has protested yesterday to have the man permanently locked up.
As for the young lady she has just been out of the operation yesterday. And she came from a humble family where she can’t afford the hospital bills. As such for the past few days many donations pours in, and the hospital has given the lady’s treat with huge subsidies.
The amount of donation continues to pour in despite the lady’s family has been declining, but after their local resident committee member coaxing them to accept them. The lady’s brother has since agreed and this funds will help the lady for future revisitations and subsequent medical bills.

That answer to problem with this man, cos he is mentally ill, and will do things out of the ordinary...

It is important to hold this man in a mental institution and not allowed to roam the streets and commit another hideous act..

Mayor need to be sack. What is there to look into when the public safety is at stake with a violent mental patient running lose on the street. Want a baby to be snatch from the arm of the mother and thrown into the air then take action?

You’re right, which explained that the Mayor who happens to be from DPP is now trying all sorts of ways to make things right. But based on the local villagers complains it appear that they can’t remove the Mayor.
And the southern part of Taiwan is typically big fans of DPP party.
