In Israel there have never been so many seriously ill patients being treated in hospitals as there were this weekend. 1263 people are therefore treated in the hospitals. 

The number of seriously ill people in Israel is at its highest level since the pandemic began two years ago. The Ministry of Health announced on Sunday that 1,263 patients seriously ill with Corona were being treated in hospitals. 1,229 seriously ill people had already been reported on Saturday. 

The number had reached its previous peak a year ago with around 1,185 seriously ill patients.

While the FDP is in favor of easing the corona measures soon, the SPD and the Greens are putting the brakes on. The new Green Party leader, Ricarda Lang, speaks of a "biding competition".
