Some reports say...
The Captain's hands were very free. The Co-pilot was busy with takeoff.
The Captain asked the Co-pilot whether the co-pilot switched them to off positions. Of course, the co-pilot says he didn't.
The Captain switched them on and said "May Day". But these were after 10 seconds.
