New citizen made good from rags to riches. Wish him all the best. Unlike those tiongkok fat cats that come here to stash their wealth and price ordinary folks out of owning their own homes he actually sarpots dis country and iz even a more generous donor to local causes unlike ur homegrown tycoons eg. money guzzler Peter Lim.

Boy he does look a bit angry.

But Sea's Shoppee should close down and keep the Garena gaming unit.

Why?

Their e-commerce are burns hundreds of millions every year to fight Lazada while gaming arm is profitable. Yes it artificially can generate revenue growth with Shoppee but at the end the battle with Lazada will drop its cash and destroy value.

Tencent already said it will sell SEA stock ...and will not be God father to keep pumping cash into the losing business.

The way I see Shoppee will not be able to survive attrition war with Lazada whose war chest is more than 10x cash of SEA and growing at a rapid rate.

Alibaba will never let go and market as Lazada is its major growth path.

Beware the investment course peddler on the right  he promoted Sea Ltd from 200+ down to where is now 70% lower
by claiming it is a super stock to his students.

But his analysis has been incorrect....and SEA will prove to be super trap....don't touch it.

Sea lost $1.5B last year. Its revenue increased.
If they lose money to gain market share and they are dominant player it can bulldoze its way.

But it is competing against Lazada in a brutal attrition  war in which Lazada has a bigger cash pile.

The bigger revenue it tries to grow and maintain the bigger its losses.

The best thing to do is what Uber did in Singapore cede the narket to the competitor instead of destroying shareholder value.

Pray hard he never pledge all his shares at high price to banks as collateral for personal loan. That's as good as escape to get all the cash and just give up the shares. The bank's will carry the dead babies while he enjoy his billions...

After losing 80% he is still a billionaire, not downgraded to millionaire, that shows how rich he was and still is.

Was overvalued, merely reflecting current cn property situation.
Few of his competitors who over leverage are worse.
