Six tourists have been arrested on suspicion of the gang rape of a young British woman who was on holiday in the Spanish resort of Magaluf, on the island of Majorca.

A judge in Palma ordered the men, five French and one Swiss, to be held in custody while the investigation continues

Officers said there were video clips of the alleged rape on at least one of the suspects’ phones.

The assault allegedly happened at dawn on Monday at a hotel in Magaluf. The resort is known for its rowdy parties and cheap alcohol.

Hotel staff called police after finding the British woman crying outside the hotel in the town of Calvia

Police said the unidentified woman told them she had met the suspected rapists on Monday night and later went to the hotel room of one of the men.

She was allegedly raped by all six of the men
