Over 600 companies under export control! Is the US afraid of China？

Sep 9, 2022  The U.S. added seven China-related entities, mostly related to aerospace, to its export control list, citing "national security" and foreign policy concerns, according to a notice posted online by the U.S. Commerce Department on Aug. 23.

Since August 1, 2018, the US government has included more than 600 Chinese companies, institutions and individuals on the Entity List.

This time, the seven entities being regulated include:
China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation (CASC) 9th Academy 771 Research Institute

China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation (CASC) 9th Academy 772 Research Institute

China Academy of Space Technology 502 Research Institute

China Academy of Space Technology 513 Research Institute

China Electronics Technology Group Corporation 43 Research Institute

China Electronics Technology Group Corporation 58 Research Institute

Zhuhai Orbita Control Systems


The U.S. Commerce Department said the entities were added as "obtaining and attempting to acquire U.S.-origin items in support of China's military modernization efforts." Suppliers providing U.S. materials or services to these entities are required to obtain a license before shipping any goods.


In order to target specific Chinese companies, the U.S. government has created a series of export control tools, such as the "Entity List" and "Military End-User List". Many Chinese companies are included in these lists, and cooperation with U.S. companies is restricted.

A spokesman for China's Ministry of Commerce said earlier that the U.S. uses export controls as a tool for political suppression and economic bullying, and continues to take unilateral measures to suppress and contain companies, institutions and individuals in other countries. This creates difficulties and obstacles to normal economic and trade cooperation between Chinese and American companies
