Buyers of luxury cars will soon have to fork out more. 

A new additional registration fee will kick in later this month. Such cars will be taxed an equivalent of 220% of their open market values. https://str.sg/wmqy

How many will buy these luxury cars? Maybe only those 200+ people.

Cannot speed, cannot go on real highway, no need to drive 4 or 5 hours from one province . . .

Just for “ show “ in SG aka means I’m rich
Super car owners also know in SG road quite hard to speed unlike big countries like USA can the road is dam long if travel from one state to another

Precisely. Only a very small number will be taxed. It won't add much to the coffers. It's only a token gesture to show that the rich are being taxed.

Shipping cost of their super car sometimes already more than the tax

these kind of taxes have little value, but it will make the lower income very happy from the perception that the wealthy kenna whack…all mind games to make the majority feel it equality

Well u guys are right. My banker friends saved $1million they think a lot already...but look at Kim Lim husband ...$2million spent without blinking an eye.

The rich have co to register the car to lah. It just means less co profit so less co tax. Such move only to make commoners feel good to accept gst... Lol
