Actually probably their policies affects price of everything as rental goes up so does prices of basic things like bread....
The low income suffer the brunt of the negative efdects their policies. They will patch it slightly with CHAS and some workfare to offset but never enough to undo the negative effects. Like housing prices shooting up several hundred thousands affecting the ability of Singapore families to upgrade for a better life.
In the end people are just working harder and harder to pay for the same piece of COE which becomes less attainable for those who need it like families who have to care for sick elderly and disabled.
Pause for a while to think about what is going on.
Poverty levels, stress, indebtedness goes up every year and the financial strain on families goes up. They are not making life better for Singaporeans at all.
I, being poor, have only my dreams; I have spread my dreams under your feet; Tread softly because you tread on my dreams.

Why should I leave the country. The leaders who lead us to this mess should leave their jobs instead.

I think LHL is too eager to come out of LKY's shadows hence he went into an overdrive to stimulate the economy. But things got to be taken one step at a time and not through short-cuts. Instead, he pumped steroids into our economy which disturbs the fabric of our society.
It is ok to import foreigners but not to the extent of upseting the equilibrium of society, certainly not when the infrastructure hasn't been built up. This results in the natives becoming grumpy and inconsiderate and then the govt labelled them xenophobic.
Build up a strong fundamental by inculcating a sense of nationality and civility in people, and earn the their trust by suffering together, not by giving motherhood statements that we are now very tired of.

This is a ludicrous claim perpetuated by the PAP.
Plse go and ask the foreigners...is he here to take up a job or create jobs?...

COE went up due to limited supply of COE plus individual have to compete with those car rental companies for COE bidding.

raising cost of living, properties, cars, etc.,
to help the poor.
