Police Col. Rederico Maranan, PNP PIO chief, said that a total of 956 ranking officers will submit their courtesy resignations -- a police general, 812 colonels, 8 lieutenant generals, 21 major generals, and 114 brigadier generals.

THE Philippine National Police (PNP) on Thursday said that close to 1,000 ranking officers will comply with the call of Interior and Local Government Secretary Benjamin "Benhur" Abalos Jr. to submit their courtesy resignations, in the wake of the discovery of the extent of how narcotics has "infected" the police force.
