it is clear that PM Lee does not believe in having more babies to increase the population.

He believes in import of foreigners to increase the population

This explains why our birth rate will always remain low

Let's be fair to him. In truth a city in any other bugger size country receives topping up thru rural urban migration when those city become a place of economic growth. An example would be how much bigger Shanghai grew in land size and population with influx from rural areas.

For Singapore, we can only rely on foreigners coming in to seize the time and opportunities. That is not to say we should not work on growing our native population. For that organic growth, more can be done.
