The present Thai royal family, the Chakri dynasty, was founded by King Rama I who himself was partly Chinese. His predecessor, King Taksin of the Thonburi Kingdom, was the son of a Chinese father from Chaoshan.

Chinese in Thailand are different from Malaysia and Spore, as most of them are partly Chinese, they have completely integrated in Thai society, they regard themselves as Thais rather than ethnic Chinese, most of them can not speak Chinese dialects anymore.

One of the dictators in Burma (Thein Sein) was also part Chinese and he has murdered tens of thousands of Chinese in Burma.
