Have you been to Thailand and Malaysia recently? They've much better malls than us. Tourists will definitely pick them rather than Spore, since there's no value in purchasing things here. When govt raised GST it aggravates the whole situation.

It’s a crap place. Lower the overpriced goods for starters.

Then build fishtanks and have china, Thai and vietcong meimei preen themselves inside.

Orchard has too many posh malls/shops which you can find in other area as well .However Vibrant business area in Singapore is Little India with only one posh mall and one department store.

Bangkok so much better shopping experience. Its actually that sort of mixture of new trendy and a mix of old..i think food is the missing part.
Impossible to find a place with cheap food to eat..not in Bangkok..mall itself already serve cheap food to local eg food court. Step outside to lane also many street food selling even cheaper food.
Orchard road will never be vibrant because cheap food is Impossible there.

Orchard and nearby areas are very attractive to both local and foreign property buyers. One TOP soon was 2800 psf before covid, now asking 3500 to 4100+ psf

Orchard will never be up-market when you have maids and bangala boy boy having drama …. it's like the San Francisco where business pack up and go due to homeless people everywhere

Attract tourists?

Q1. Do we have 20 or 30 of our own SG products brand to sell?

Q2. How many dumb tourists come here to shop to buy 10 Times the price for genuine goods?

Q3. What is so special that tourist will over-pay to shop here?

Why do we need 5 Mayors and 80 PAP Ministers?

If they have brains they should build an integrated casino resort at orchard area.

They should also convert orchard road into orchard river.
