This news has not been widely reported here in Taiwan.
Apparently DPP the current administration has been under a lot of pressure which resulted them to cover up the reporting of this news from widely reported.
The Mayor of Kaohsiung was under fired where he has not shown any interest or concerns with the incidents when it happened.
The crux of the problems lies with the apartment safety which was not reported, and the local MP has been questioning the local authority who failed to perform the safety checks. And many of the escape routes within the apartment were clutter with piled disposed heavy or bulky furniture or the stairway doors were locked.
Also many who stayed within the apartments were family with low income or an apartment who house a few singles who rented the place.
Many violations were not corrected by the local representatives.
This week the news of Omicron spreads has taken most of the attentions here in Taiwan. The passing sentence of this lady were not the main attention now....
The administration DPP has the control of the media here as such they have full control on the news to be reported. While they select or control the news they "wish" to release to the masses.
