There'll be abuse by cabbies and phv. Fairer way is to impose a 50c fuel surcharge per trip say for 3 months.

If PS pushes for petrol & diesel prices for all industries, govt will ask him, where the money comes from.. Oppie haters will say, "he can't even push for the group that is hit the hardest, want to push for everyone.. What a joker".

So no matter what he proposed, oppie haters will have something to say..

Even if he say quiet, oppie haters will say leader of opposition easy money, sit there do nothing earn $15k + extra allowance as leader of opposition..

1. I have served the nation in a combat unit for 2.5 + 10 years. I had fulfilled my duty as a citizen, but has the country do it's part for me?
2. I don't know where the threat of CCP is, but I know the threat of CECA is already at my doorsteps
3. I had been called a CCP, JHK, Pinoy, but they never called me a CECA..

This kind of subsidy is precisely the reason that the govt is using to raise gst. If the war continues for more than a year then are we supposed to have the subsidy for the whole of this period? This is the time when the govt ought to be very prudent with our spending. The govt spends this amount, the whole population pays for it.

If anything, then the taxi companies should be the ones to help the drivers.

And more than this, the petrol price increase already affects everybody, so should the govt subsidise everybody?

All these is considered public transport. Driver dun have employer's contribution to CPF, no MC  and no annual leave . They have car rental,  petrol as well as commission cost . If they are working a decent common humanity working hrs with a non decent income, yet earnings is being squeezed to support the public .Is this just to say taxpayers supporting them? In actual fact they are the one  supporting the public with an alternative transport running their errants facing virus and accident dangers every second in their job. If normal employee can ask for increments why not driver ask for increase to maintain their income. Mind you they are not asking increasing their income.Anything increase ,all will be affected . If they are sick , they cant drive , who foot their losses? Whereas normal employee can still have their pay and CPF in their pockets. If Gov allows SP , town council fees, property tax and carpark fee etc to be increased , why not their fare ?Petrol has been a major cost affecting their take home pay.If everyone keep saying Gov no good yet boasting about being a good " Samaritan" .All these actions and words become meaningless and empty . Its Gov job to enforce what needs to enforce .
