Why not? There are ways to inform PM Lee about those things without Iswarn knowing who squealed on him.
And you might as well also ask...why did CPIB dare to speak up and do the investigation? They might lose their jobs too if PAP is what the 39% say....

In order for the Public Service to be more effective, it needs to recruit people with more diverse skills. When leaders are drawn from a group possessing similar doctrines and ideology, they tend to approach issues by consensus, rather than as independent individuals. Compliance, joint rationalisation, absence of personal accountability and the pressure to accede may follow; often resulting in unchallenged as well as poor quality decision-making. This is exactly what S'poreans have been seeing in the ruling party.

Public policies from the MIW appear to be steered by a uniformed approach that suffers from having a surfeit of the same tired and safe ideas that have outlived their usefulness in a fast changing world. This comes from entrenched “groupthink” when it becomes difficult for Ministers to stand up for what they believe. Those who disagree with the dominant interests of the group may be quickly marginalised. On the other hand, wise leaders (PM Lee is not 1 of them) understand that dissension is crucial to steer clear of groupthink, and should actively address the concerns of those who are bold enough to disagree.

Policymakers must have a true feel of the ground and do not take their fellow citizens for granted. Our leaders may continue to lose the support of millennial voters who expect both accountability and a say in policies that affect their lives. In this regard, the future of S'pore may be brighter if our 4th Generation leaders introduce daring and innovative plans. A departure from mere modifications to the 59-year-old strategies of our Founding Fathers is of paramount importance. The problem may be rooted in the lack of diversified thinking among policymakers, as well as the natural aversion to fear and uncertainty.

Paying Ministers millions ensures that nobody will dare speak up for fear of losing their obscene wages. Even if a Minister dares tell PM Lee to his face that he is not giving voters value for their taxpayers' money, his spouse will tell him to shut up, and continue drawing his mega salary!
