If employers do not give salary increment or transport allowance, can we opt for WFH 100% of the time?

Desmond Choo lost twice in GE but in the end rode on the coattails of others and entered the parliament. He was then rewarded for his loyalty with a cushy and lucrative appointment as a mayor whom nobody knows does what. Recklessly spending away our money on frivolous affairs while thinking of new ways of taxing us.

They can justified it by high fuel price.
If cannot, they will say need to raise salary for the public transport.
Money become worthless.

More important is to make them invest to make the public transport air quality safer.

For those who wants to know the role and job scope of a mayor:

https://www.pa.gov.sg/our-network/commun...the-mayors

https://www.cdc.gov.sg/office-of-the-mayors/our-mayors

https://theindependent.sg/singapores-may...o-they-do/

Each mayor handles a specific district of Singapore. According to the Community Development Council (CDC) website, mayors also double up and sit as Chairman of each CDC in their particular district. Each council, consisting of one Chairman and between 12 and 80 members, is in charge of urban planning, zoning and other similar issues in their respective regions in line with national policy. It’s estimated that each district contains no less than 150,000 residents.

The CDC aims to build a caring and cohesive community, where they assist the needy, bond with the people and connect the community through the five CDC which fall under the People’s Association (PA), a Government Statutory Board under Ministry of Culture, Community and Youth (MCCY).

Basically these Mayors are to overseas the community that they were in-charge of, and repeating those jobs that the MP supposed to handle. What it says basically is more of a redundancy role to the already assigned MPs, but covers across a few constituencies, in my opinion.

With GRC system, Mayors are redundant. If can cut them, the salaries of the 5 saved will be enough to defer GST increase forever.

This network factor (  which defines as the distance ) is a major component of the fare formula, which is used to determine the maximum allowable increase for fares.

The parameter is meant to compensate transport operators for their operating costs relative to commuter demand.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------

They talk SMLJ? So, we are punished for not using the public transport?

Why do we need 5 Mayors and 80 PAP Ministers?

Anyone study what customer really needs compare to increase fare ? Where can we cut cost should be a correct direction ? Like lower air con in some period of lesser customer, good enough standard , reduce unncessary stock and items etc... increase fare is not the only option.

Go Green?

I mean increase in fare should come with air cleaner  in the transport system to reduce infection.

While fuel increase, many still work at home, transport providers profit still intact.

Public transport is a public service and should be run as not for profit. Govt should strive towards that. Not every services to the public is to make alot of money and then anyhow spent.

Public transport increase, private hire transport also increase.
Pump price increase, so affect business and hawker prices.
Food prices also increase. Rental and property prices also increase. Electricity and water prices also increase. Dental and medical cost also increase. GST also going to increase.

They die die must make those public listed transport companies profitable lah. For e.g comfortdelgro is still profitable during the pandemic. Reason for being profitable is due to govt subsidy.

One thing " smart " this current PAP play " legal way to get more money themselves as Ministers etc ' In law you can't say " corrupt " because they do it so " legal " way in the way " it is not corruption " is Openly legal increase one benefits as Politicians. In fact they learn from the Americans and the British , remember who rule SG , own SG before Sg become independent.
The system how the British play, LKY knows well in depth partly he study in UK. During those days not much people know in depth about western politics etc only people like LKY , the rich locals happen travel in UK work with the British getting benefits from them in SG will know.
