Russia sacrificed nearly 30 million people to defeat the Nazis in WW2 and the west even joined them in the fight. Many allied nations lost many men in the fight and how does the west repay Russia? How do they remember the sacrifice?
By trying to use the same Nazis as a proxy to defeat Russia... Hitler would have ruled all of Europe no doubt if not for Russia and to now expand your western military alliance, (NATO,) upon Russia and try to destroy Russia for defending itself as they once defended Europe is the highest level of betrayal I can imagine.
