There were 3,939 cases of shop theft in 2023, marking a 21.4 per cent increase from the 3,244 cases in 2022. There were 2,652 cases in 2021 and about 2,500 cases in 2020.

......

From January to June last year, 2,027 cases were reported – a rise of 178 cases compared to the 1,849 reported during the same period in 2023.

......

the rise in self-checkout counters may be a contributing factor.

......

although these systems are designed to streamline the shopping experience and reduce operational costs, they also create opportunities for theft.

This is particularly more prevalent in supermarkets and grocery stores, where the systems depend heavily on customers' integrity.

......

shopkeepers telling CNA TODAY that they generally do not see rising costs as the main cause.

They often observe that the items being stolen are non-essential goods. They also encounter people who appear to steal "out of habit”.

Can only blame CURRENT PAP for being Bad Role model and BAD Values

How many schools teach Civic/ Ethics Studies?

My primary school canteen do not even have any uncles/ aunties collecting money

It was fully based on TRUST & HONESTY

Why do we need 5 Mayors and 80 PAP Ministers?

Yeo Yu Wei's current Company also wrong

They should not hire him in the first place

------------------------------

Yeo is now employed as an accounts executive in another firm and has revealed his past deeds to his current employer, who allowed him to continue working, added the lawyer.

The 61% NAIVE must suck PAP's tits

PAP only know how to use the Parliament, their Power, Stat Boards and Media

to protect themselves, their future, their own category

BUT cannot do the same for Born- Citizens

When our ministers decide to pay themselves millions of dollars from taxpayers, that is "legalised" greed. When jobless Sinkies shoplift food or other essentials worth less than $30, they may be jailed for up to 7 years.

OVERpay and UNDERwork but PAP calls it "Dignity"

Double Standards from them all the time

After 15 Years, Lim WK is still not sacked means that PAP Supports this Statement.

This is why I dont believe high pay can stop corruption. It can only reduce but no guarantee.
Becos Greed is unmeasurable lah.

Rich will always want to be richer.
It is becos they are slaves of $$$.
They think the more money they gain in their life will be fullest.
If one day $$$ is no longer important when AI wave is at peak level, I believe many rich may hara kiri.
They have lost their meaning of life($$$).

I have seen young working adult boarding a crowded bus in the morning without taping her ezlink card on the card reader. It seems like so easy to get away with the crime in Singapore.

A young able-bodied person also addicted to commit cheating.
