If you are under 40 running is good for you, however if you are over 45, walking is better as your knees are partially worn out, jogging will make them worse and further damage them, walking is fine as it won’t affect the knees.

The latest recommendation is brisk walking with a short burst of running to bring your pulse rate to 170. Then slow down to brisk walking again with a short burst of running in between. It was found that the HIIT burst of running to raise pulse rate to 170 is most effective for weight loss.    Rolleyes

Running gets your heart pumping and can really boost your stamina over time. Plus, it's great for burning those extra calories if you're into that. On the flip side, walking is more chill but still awesome for keeping active without the intensity. It's easier on the joints too, which is a big win as we get older.I reckon the key is consistency—whether you're pounding the pavement or taking a leisurely stroll, staying active regularly is what counts. It's like they say, the best exercise is the one you actually do! So, lace up those sneakers and find your groove. Oh, and if you're curious about more health tips, check out https://fitnflexed.com. I used to run and do gym workouts 5 days a week, but my left knee is now worn out. I brisk walk, swim and do less intense workouts at the gym up to 6 days per week. My running days are behind me now.

So why does walking move the needle—and what's the best way to get started on a walking workout to lower blood pressure? Read on for the answers.

Why Is Walking Good for Your Blood Pressure?
"Walking is an aerobic activity, so it increases endurance and physical fitness, which are both benefits for heart health," Rizzo says. "Research also shows that people who walk more have a lower risk for heart disease." For instance, a 2019 study published in Preventing Chronic Disease concluded that walking is a way to encourage an active lifestyle and prevent cardiovascular disease.

That's right, it is designed for loosing weight and prevent stroke. For people below 30 yo, they should bring up the heart rate to around 190 and those 70 plus to 150.     Big Grin

Neighbour just bought a treadmill, something like this in the picture. Would it make you run or walk more ?

Think would go for long walk of 1 hour duration or 5 -min slow jog.
