Russia used a "super bomb" against Ukraine for the first time
#1

On June 20, Russia used the FAB-3000 heavy bomb, known as the "super bomb", for the first time in the Ukrainian war.

In March, the Russian Ministry of Defense announced an increase in the production of FAB-3000 and several other types of munitions, including FAB-500 and FAB-1500. All three types of bombs can be modified and turned into glide bombs, but these bombs are too heavy and their performance may not be as expected after being equipped with a glide device.

Analysts point out that if the Russians are able to launch large numbers of FAB-3000s (or heavier guided glide bombs), they would be able to severely overwhelm Ukrainian front-line positions and key infrastructure.
