S'pore families cut expenses to make ends meet after utilities increase.
#1

For stay-at-home dad Lim Guan Seng, 42, he has resorted to skipping lunch at home and cutting back his spending on subscription-based services, such as Netflix. This was after he noticed that his monthly expenses on groceries and utilities going up from S$1,200 to S$1,500.

A cup of bubble tea or a McDonald's meal are now luxuries that he would hesitate to indulge in.

“The money saved can be better used for enrichment for the kids and perhaps even more nutritious food,” said Mr Lim, who has a wife working in a logistics firm and three children aged between four and eight years old.

Global inflation storm is global inflation storm (due to supply and demand, supply chain disruption etc). GST is self inflicted inflation. Increase GST only adds on to the global inflation storm and make life more difficult for own citizens. WTF is the govt thinking?

Well said, our govt. should be sensitive to global inflation, and not increase GST of 9% too early......

Mind you these are people not at the bottom where they qualify for financial aids. The people suffering are the middle income families hurt by all the regressive taxes. Our ministers and mayors are the rich elite that are least affected.

2022 is going to be severe hardship for many Singaporeans and their families.

The rising cost of living is government initiated.

Water, electricity, transport, medical, GST adds insult to injury.

Your LOTO is not eating grass either.

If not for her lies, your 27 year old RK would still be paid $16K every freaking month while yes, people are "suffering".

Your logic.

You can match Sentinel in stupigity.

Government initiated?

I see.

So they invented the c19 virus, got it mutated to Omicron, and the result is a worldwide economic tailspin, travel restrictions, lockdowns, supply and demand problems, and prices rise because of delivery issues, and even shortages in the countries of origin...

PAP's fault as usual.

And IBs like you say "We need RK to save us!"
