A Brazilian government source told AFP on Friday that the deportation was "not directly related" to the crackdown on illegal immigrants launched in the United States after Trump took office.

Brazilian television footage showed some passengers disembarking from the civilian aircraft with their hands handcuffed and ankles tied.
