Mindef say the serviceman was found next to a bed in Pasir Laba Camp. He was taken to Ng Teng Fong General Hospital in an SAF ambulance and was pronounced dead at the hospital, despite resuscitation efforts en route.

Certified fit and young national serviceman dying suddenly in their bunks during peace time warrants the highest level of attention from our government, in particular the health ministry. No stones should be left unturned to uncover the cause of death and the subsequent prevention strategies. Is it a case of wrongful certification of his health status? Or is it another statistic of recent excess deaths? The actual cause MUST be thoroughly investigated and remedial measures implemented! This is the least a responsible government must do for national servicemen who dedicated their youth to protect the millions of residents residing in this country.
