The reits night mare continues for investors

Not just those that have collapsed 80-90% there are many sitting on heavy losses.

Many forgot that reits carry a fair amount of risks from interest rates.

REIT started in SGX in the 2000s. For investor who buy them and hold them from IPO until now not all is heavy losses. I know becuz I got a few from 2000s IPO till now. Factor in the dividends I get over the years don't think I am losing. Now is the time for me to add on new REIT counter which I cannot afford for past few years.

The hey days peaked in 2019. Then 4 yrs of bear market.

I remember many people wanted to buy in 2019. Someone even posted that reits historically better than other stocks.

Now we are even below pandemic lows
While many other categories of stocks like nasdaq, Dow, jap ....all beat reits.

The key is interest rate ...high interest rate is like toxic environment for reits because of gearing....

When Fed can significantly cut rate maybe a few yrs from now..
