SG: Supermarkets need to charge fees for disposable bags
#1

Supermarket controllers licensed with the Food Agency of Singapore (SFA) with annual sales in excess of $100 million will be required to charge disposable bags at their supermarket outlets, said Minister of State for the Right (Transport plus Prosperity and Environment), Dr Amy Khor.

But convenience stores, such as those run by brands like Cheers and 7-Eleven that don't sell or provide raw meat, duck, or seafood, don't need to have a supermarket license, and so don't fall under the law, said Dr Khor.
