HO and MO worked around 80 to 100 hrs per week and on certain days they work continuously for 24 to 30 hours w/o sleep.

But once they become Registrar and above, they are more relaxed maybe 50 to 60 hours per week.

PAP makes all the mistakes and should be Blamed.

1) Why tighten the medical cohort for a growing population?

MOE Ministers siao?

2) And which Stupid MP said no need to take leave is needed to rest?

https://mothership.sg/2024/04/minimum-an...no-change/

3) And the NTUC Union under PAP not representing workers?

Why do we need 5 Mayors and 80 PAP Ministers?

8hrs x 3 shifts =24 hrs
Thats normal in the past working in the factory.
Why they complain now?

I think there is a lot of duplication in most of the doctors' work. They talk a lot of rubbish. Furthermore, they only wait for serious events to happen and then look into it. The experienced ones are in the private sector.

The only way to bring down cost is to boost up the supply. Not only the cost but it'll also relieve doctors of their stress.

Why cannot import more doctors?

What he says is true. The doctors can be shift workers with short shifts at night. At night time, they are on call at home. Their work becomes unstable. It is hard to find the doctor at night. Daytime, they are always in a rush. How can they think properly? Maybe get those experienced doctors outside to do compulsory night shifts in the hospitals like ICT.

Why cannot import more doctors?

Beyond importing more doctors, why not concurrently open more med school slots for locals to be trained as doctors?

Can open more slots but not fast enough. And our population is too small, need ppl to do other jobs as well.

What makes you think that doctors don't fall sick, take urgent leave, get summoned for NS In-Camp Training etc.? Whenever this happens, the doctor on duty has his shift extended because the hospital is providing essential services.

Why they complain now?

Over these few decades, is proven unhealthy,
and there are worldwide healthcare strike these days.

Or perhaps really Sg put too little in developing doctors in the first place.

IT Automation has not reduced their work hours.

S'pore is overcrowded, has not enough space to build quality homes, hospitals and allow more citizens to own cars, but we keep opening our doors to plane loads of fake talents.

The society gives excuse not enough manpower.Increase longer hrs yet not paying OT just to create 2 shift .....In our country majority voted for it , its a heavy price to pay. By then its too late.

When docs are overworked, fatigue sets in and mistakes increase. Is it wise to force docs to work 24 hours w/o adequate sleep?
