A resident surnamed Liu who lives in Ang Mo Kio Avenue 10 told Lianhe Zaobao that he took his old clothes to the SG Recycle recycling machine near his home at 9 o'clock last Sunday morning, but when he scanned the QR code to set up an account, he was rejected. Linking to another website caused the credit card to be swiped for more than 50 yuan.

A resident surnamed Liu (57 years old, a media practitioner) who lives in Ang Mo Kio Avenue 10 told Lianhe Zaobao that he took his old clothes to the SGRecycle recycling machine near his home at 9:00 a.m. last Sunday (May 7) , As a result, when scanning the QR code to set up an account, it was linked to another website, resulting in more than 50 yuan being swiped from the credit card.

It is the app used to scan the QR code got issues. News mention third party scanning app. QR code itself should be fine.

there is NO NEED TO INSTALL ANY QR Code reader app in fact in order to scan QR Code.

Yes you are Correct. Activate your phone camera it will auto scan the QR code.

So easy to scam by putting QR codes everywhere ane at all shops. Doesnt the authorities have simple guidelines for such vandalism this at all?
