I got two cousin used to study there. That time Govt PAP claim Hotel Industry is the future blah blah.

Well is kinda true during those days in 80/90s hotel industry looks promising but later 2000 onwards go downhill.

Now Hotels in SG only so call " fully book " is whenever there is a Global events stage in SG. I see now days Govt just pushing using events to boast Hotel industries. Next The tourism boards also like running out of ideas. Keep revamp ChinaTown also like nothing and other places. Partly is Too expensive to tour around in SG . Tourists now a days want is Reasonable price and offer more Choices.

This is why Thailand always lure quite a number of tourists including Singaporean , likewise this is why a lot Singaporean go JB eat, shop , spend there as it is cheaper there.

Yes one thing also due to Strong SIN dollars but end of the day is mainly cause by High rental in SG.

Even come Night life , SG is too expensive for it.
