Just how deep is the rot?

For failing to take decisive action, SPH Media has led some Singaporeans to speculate that the stepping down of ex-Lieutenant-General Ng Yat Chung in May 2022 as the former CEO of Singapore Press Holdings (SPH) may have been connected to this latest scandal.

Such an allegation is not entirely baseless when one looks at the tremendous amount of effort and resources needed to regularly print so many publications and then subsequently destroying them.

As such, it is hard to believe that the previous senior management did not know or suspect something was terribly wrong at SPH unless everyone was sleeping on their jobs.

It is equally hard to believe that such an elaborate scandal can be pulled off by just three executives without the help of more employees of SPH.

If so, why wasn’t this scandal raised in parliament when Mrs Josephine Teo, the Minister for Communications & Information, was championing for the government to keep SPH Media economically viable by providing it with an enormous annual grant of up to S$180 million and is renewable after the first five years?

Cheating SPH criminals and those 6 KOM CEOs should send to jail for 5 to 10 years.

Don't waste time with these peoples.

"Criminal justice system
If you look at a systemic level, at the highest level, you talk about "the criminal justice system".

We have the police who investigate in accordance with the legal framework for police investigations. The Attorney-General's Chambers (AGC) makes the charging decision based on (1) available evidence; and (2) public interest. The trial courts consider the sufficiency of the evidence and the legal issues. The appellate courts review the decision of the trial court..

This case shows that the criminal justice system as a whole works.

No, it does work and the officers can be very efficient and meticulous too.  But it will depend on who.

Remember how CPIB investigated and threw the book at a lowly attendant who took bribes from lorry drivers who paid 10cts to $1? Big Grin

Also read this:

6. Singapore adopts a strict zero-tolerance approach towards corruption. It is a serious offence to obtain bribes, or attempt to obtain bribes from another individual or entity. Any person who is convicted of a corruption offence can be fined up to $100,000 or sentenced to imprisonment of up to 5 years or to both.

7. The CPIB looks into all corruption complaints and reports, including anonymous ones, and can be reached via the following channels….

So who can say CPIB is useless? Big Grin

In 6 KoM CEOs is a stern warning

CPIB didn't make those decisions alone as they said it was done after consultation with AGC .

In comparison with Hongkong ICAC obviously ,CPIB is not independent at all.

I think for Keppel, if u want projects from those countries, u have no choice.. for SPH, it’s another story altogether… what they did is to benefit themselves and cheated all their biz partners…. And if u can’t trust their stats.. how can u trust their news.. no wonder the fat ceo said, without gov money, they will be forced to publish fake news like all the msm…

Keppel corp competing with Samsung's heavy industry, China offshore oil and China National oil and gas corp. in Brazil.

What's the objective for a small country?

After building 13 rigs including the world's largest, Keppel Corp was ranked The World's Largest oil Rig builder?

I think probably the karung guni man is the whistleblower
As I said, hard to believe no one is curious about this over a year let alone 8 years (suspected length of years this has been going on)
If WUSG hasn’t reported, SPH would have tried to hide it
