They imported so many rich ppl all over the world. Now the definition of middle come is very vague. Is it purely local?

The cost of living in general, and especially the prices of private properties and cars have outstripped the salaries of middle income earners during that period.

Seriously, dun believe in reports, surveys and even statistics because I know they could be skewed by vested parties.

I'll be convinced if they give us all the figures and reveal their calculation techniques. But they won't do it, cos they know that many people will blindly believe them.

Why not believe?

Since it state is Singapore resident employees, meaning consist of PRs.
Also employer CPF contribution was increased over 2011 2021, may play a part.

So is that surprising?

Because I've seen firsthand how statisticians play with numbers, and how surveys play with the questions and interpret them the way they like it to be.

A retrenched worker in S'pore is considered retired or no longer interested in looking for work is he doesn't find another job within 6 months after getting laid off.  This is not an accurate measurement of unemployment, but keeps the jobless rate low here.

Definition of middle income is defined as those from the 21st percentile to the 80th percentile in terms of income. Definitely not purely Singaporeans.

Just look at MOM salary data for FTs

FTs & PRs have the high salary increase, not us

How many Citizens a 24 years old can earn $8k or 10k here except FTs?
