So best option is still to merge.

If don't merge all will be worse off.

More debts means more interest payments

I read somewhere that the $500M will be paid from keppel O&M to KC. No loan from bank needed.

If merged, at least it provides jobs for thousands of people.
Still it will add to economic activities.

Bankrupt....zero employment and economic standstill.

Certainly a more rational option.

Actually why bother to merge with SMM. It is better for Keppel to IPO KOM directly, then distribute KOM in specie to Keppel shareholders. Let SMM die by itself.

And the juhukia FT SMM CEO and juhukia SMM Chairman

This Melayu chairman is the most hopeless guy. SMM thought they got a big fish when they got him as an ex Petronas guy. But he brings NOTHING to the table. Zero, nothing!! Except collect fat salary. Worse, nobody have the balls to remove him. He is the parasite that eats into the revival of SMM. Like all executive s from Malaysia Ta-Boleh, they are all NATO people. No need to come out with all kinds of strategy... just cut this parasite off.

When the black market players buy they never say why; when they sell, they never tell. ALWAYS REMEMBER THAT.

Remove all the jhk from Singapore's management level and we should be in a better position to progress.  Laughing
