Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, the Pakistani national who is said to be the mastermind of the September 11, 2001 attacks on New York and the Pentagon, has agreed to plead guilty after a plea bargain, along with two other prisoners, the US Department of Defense announced yesterday.

All three have been held for the past two decades in the prison at Guantanamo Bay , Cuba , on land granted on an indefinite lease in 1903 to the United States.
