Hi I did badly for my Alibaba investment my first purchase what $150 and my last purchase was $110.

I underestimated the regulatory storm and consumer slowdown.

While these are long term investments looking back I could have done better had I been more patient ...

The company cannot buyback to a full recovery that requires regulators to complete their regulation and China economy to pick up.

Having said that, hindsight of course is easy....but j do reflect on each investment I made to improve.

Losing money in some investments is part and parcel of investing.

I don't think anyone can achieve a perfect record ....only course peddlers on YouTube claim to have 95% winning record.

Having said that 98yr old Charlie Munger bought at an even higher price than me for Alibaba...he is a proven successful billionaire investors.
Not that I am using him as a excuse when I lose money. Just like most value investors I did not see a any obvious red flags when I bought. The negatives only show up after I.made  my investment. All along risk exists ...as with all investments.

The whole situation resemble a post dot com bubble where there was a fall of tech stocks with a slowdown in economy.. Some see cup half full others half empty...for me I observe, understand, adjust and find opportunity.

I, being poor, have only my dreams; I have spread my dreams under your feet; Tread softly because you tread on my dreams.
