Analysts have also started re-rating the stock.

In a report last week, UOB Kay Hian raised Sembmarine's target price to 13 cents, citing new order wins in oil and gas and renewables, and the potential upsizing of the company's capabilities following a merger with Keppel O&M.

It added that, based on a five-year price-book ratio of 1.1 times, the stock prices should be 14.3 cents; while a 10-year price-book average of 1.5 implies a stock price of 18.9 cents.

Proven many times, UOB Kay Hian always has its analysis wrong.

SCM has fallen & cut below the falling wedge. It will have to clear T1 & T2 for meaningful investment; otherwise, it will just be like any other traders' market.

The mountain behind is big. Plus, the oil prices are rising. This means there will be more money for the oil companies to spend on the down lines. More companies will be looking for oil. Some will build new ones while some will send them for repair works. Affected by an oversea country's politics.

It is a speculative stock now, price driven higher by bullish analysts reports to encourage retail investors to hold and buy more

Likely orchestrated by vested parties including Temasek

It is obvious why SembMarine/KOM merger announcement was delayed by a month from end Mar to end Apr

The very low average price of SembMarine shares traded in March at around 8.5cts means a bankrupt SembMarine will need to issue more shares to takeover KOM

So the vested parties decided to extend the merger deadline for a month to pump up the price of SembMarines to suck idiots into their mega grave yard

Caveat emptor, there is no benefits from merging two loss making shipyards to form a bigger loss making mega grave yard

Get it?
