On the 23rd, the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that it would ban 13 Japanese nationals, including Toyota Motor Corporation Chairman Akio Toyoda and Rakuten Group Chairman and CEO Hiroshi Mikitani, from entering Russia. 

This is a countermeasure to the sanctions imposed on Russia following Russia's invasion of Ukraine . 

Akihiko Tanaka, president of the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), and others were also barred from entering Russia.
