I had been using TPG since Day One when they launched in Singapore till it became SIMBA.  Was among the first to sign up at $10 per month, and when they launched the Senior Go Plan for $5, I was among the first to switch over.

$5 for 20GB is more than I need.  I know there are plans out there which give 100 GB for $10, and in fact, SIMBA also has that.  Only $5 more and you get an additional 80GB,  Worth it right.  But it will be a white elephant for me.  It's not so much as trying to be stingy with $5.

So yeah, when is SIMBA launching its broadband?  I have registered my interest and will CUT OFF M1.

I tried the free trial SIM, but not gonna continue the service becos of some dead spots. But to my surprise, I still can log in TPG account and my CC details are still there!

Some zoomers rant about TPG saying that there was no signal inside mrt tunnels.

Freaking shit.  How long do you stay inside the tunnel?  You work as a maintenance technician for SMRT?  The train goes under for a minute and you are going to die because your porn beedio gets cut off?

So you'd rather pay $20-30 more to another TELCO for that convenience of uninterrupted porn beedio streaming?  Goes to show that it is another lie by the 39% to say that sinkies are poor.  If they are really poor, they would not throw money anyhow...like that. Got TPG to use already can laugh if poor.... Rolleyes

I guess it's speed, but it would be limited by how much speed your existing equipment can handle.

I don't need 2.5 Gps speed, to be honest.  I am not planning to download a Netflix movie in 2 minutes. And what I have right now is fast enough to surf forums, check emails, go to this or that website including banks and government, type WhatsApp messages on the computer as an alternative to typing it on my mobile phone, watch Youtube....).  Laughing

But I can save a bit of money every month to jiak mala... Tongue

1.  You need to be aged 60 and above to be eligible.  If you are below 60, yup you can "cheat" by using your parent's name.

2.  I am not sure about porting over because I did not do that.  I applied for a new line, and it is quite a nice number.

20 GB for the price of $5 is really more than what I need.  Maybe one day, the world will need super mobile devices, but I don't forsee this happening in my lifetime.  20 years from now, maybe that will become nonbargainable?  Everybody must use super data speed which are in a tiny chip which is embedded in their palm or forehead?  I would be dead by then.   nudie

I am not 60. I am way above that lar.

My parents' name tak laku lar.  SIMBA don't accept dead peepurs' names hor.

As for SMS...well. it's FOC if you SMS another SIMBA number.  So there's no limit.  But if you SMS other telco's numbers, then it's limited to 50.  But SMS are seldom used these days, except for OTP and some government or bank messages.  Incoming SMS are FOC anyway.

Now is what era liao?  We needed SMS 20 years ago but now, most peepur use WhatsApp, some use Telegram.  If you have friends in China, you have no choice but to use WeChat because WhatsApp is banned there.  And better don't criticize the CCP if you are using WeChat because there are bots and you may get your friend into some trouble.

Just go to their website to sign up.  It is very user friendly.

Well, if you really need to have a lot of SMS, you can go for the Singtel Senor Plan.  It costs $15 - bo bian, Singtel is never known to be cheap.  But you get 300 SMS.

Well, that is not my sexperience wor.  Today, I tested it by purposely taking the mrt to stations that are at basements.  En route between one station and another, I had strong signals.

So be careful with what you say because instead of you suing SIMBA, you may get sued by SIMBA for spreading falsehoods.

We have the same arseholes posting in edmw, repeating posts that were written three years ago about TPG...no signal, weak signal yadda yadda.

Hello!  SIMBA had improved a helluva lot and the reception is very good, and the speed is very also fast hor.  Do not be fooled by posters who seem to be working for some Telco...

Resistance to Change: In-group bias can make consumers resistant to switching brands or trying new products. If their in-group holds a preference for a particular brand, they might stick to it even when objectively better options are available.

https://shahmm.medium.com/the-power-of-b...0available.

We see such biases in many consumers, for eg still buying from FP when mom and pop shops sell certain things like body shampoo much more cheaply, sticking to iPhone for 4 times the price of an Android phone which does the same thing, deceiving themselves that only the traffic lights Telcos can deliver good products and services, that only brick and mortar shops sell good things and online sellers sell fake or inferior products...

It leads to resistance to change. and is a sign of weakness.

For the average users I think SIMBA's connectivity is pretty decent.

Given the reasonably low charges  and  with free caller ID,and free roaming etc, there is no reason one should complain more.

In fact, I dare say the vast majority of customers are "average users".

This is how mobile phones killed the lucrative market for camera brands like Canon, Nikon, and Olympus...which we no longer see at IT Shows selling point and shoot cameras.  We are just average users, not professional photographers.

I have seen so many young men and women using expensive smartphones only to play games or watch videos.  Or chatting on WhatsApp. Pretty average.

I wonder why we would even need 5G or a phone that costs a four digit sum.  Maybe the snob appeal.  They cannot afford a Rolex Submariner, or Daytona or a Lamborghini or Maserati, but they have $1,500 and that's as far as they can get to show off.  Rolleyes
