Comparison of manifesto from PAP , WP, PSP and SDP
Alright, Iโve looked at your chart. Here's a summary of the key proposals for PAP, WP, PSP, and SDP, followed by flaws or limitations I noticed:
---
Summary:
---
Main Flaws/Limitations:

2. WP:
Minimum wage ($1,600) could be seen as too low to keep up with inflation trends (especially by 2025-2030).
Their zero-rated GST on essentials is good but not comprehensive enough to tackle broader systemic cost pressures (e.g., transport, utilities).
3. PSP:
$1,200 minimum wage is very modest and might still leave many families struggling.
Proposal to lower GST to 5% or 7% sounds attractive but may lead to revenue shortfalls if not paired with clear spending cuts or new taxes elsewhere.
Housing pledge (100,000 flats in 5 years) may face capacity and manpower bottlenecks in the construction industry.
4. SDP:
$15/hour minimum wage (~$2,400/month) is ambitious, but no detailed transition plan for industries heavily reliant on cheap labor.
Proposal to reduce CPF contribution rates for low-wage workers to boost take-home pay risks harming long-term retirement savings unless carefully balanced.
---
Extra observations:
Comparison to Nordic/European models (in purple) is very useful, but it sometimes cherry-picks the best features without acknowledging very high taxes or different demographics in those countries.
Some important areas missing in this table:
Climate change/green economy plans
Transport affordability
Immigration control specifics beyond PMET jobs
National debt or fiscal sustainability measures

cost of living is a main issue now. why till now really no solutions. can we sit down and think so everyone can live easier.

Manifesto is too high level for me. All I know is, if PAP returns to power in a big way, your erp, coe, gst and every other cost of living will shoot for the sky to cover the US tariff effect. More money locked up into CPF by just upping the CPF contribution limit. Electricity and water levy to go up especially during June cos you got no way out of aircon and shower.
Hahahaha... Trust my playbook. Even Trump has to follow.
